This person will:

Report to the Senior Philosophy Publisher

Pursue and develop book projects (mainly textbooks)

Work closely with marketing and sales colleagues in the US and UK

Develop excellent current and future author relationships and negotiate contracts

Conduct extensive research on the US Philosophy market

Travel frequently to college campuses and conventions (about 25-30%)

Share in the management of an Editorial Assistant
Qualifications:
-
BA or equivalent
-
Two years experience in academic publishing (preferably in a commissioning role).

Strong knowledge of Philosophy is desirable
-
Ability to budget and analyze financial data
-
Strong organizational and communication skills
-
Time management and negotiation skills are essential

Expertise in Microsoft Office Programs
The ideal person will be a self starter who is able to work effectively with other team members to accomplish goals.
