Our Client is in need of an Acquisition Editor for Cellular and Molecular Biology reference books, MRWs, laboratory manuals, graduate texts and online product.

This person will:

• Acquire books, and online product for the Academic markets
• Have previous Acquisitions experience, ideally in science reference books
• Be familiar with developing and maintaining a solid list of potential author contacts
• Need to travel up to 20% for conferences and campus visits
• Be creative, innovative, organized, results oriented individual
• Be involved in US and possibly some International Marketing efforts
• Conduct competitive research and analysis on similar industry products
• Work with colleagues regarding product development and marketing
• Be involved in various industry conferences as well as campus visits

Qualifications needed are:

• College degree
• 3-5 years editorial experience 
• 5+ years in acquisitions for a Sr. Editor position
• A degree in sciences is a plus but not required
• Sales and marketing experience is a plus
• Must have experience with Excel, MS Word, etc.
