Our Client is in need of a qualified person to oversee their Journals, Newsletters, Monographs and Books publishing programs
This person will:

Report directly to the associations Executive Director

Oversee and Direct the print and electronic scholarly publications program

Direct the clients continuing growth into digital publishing and an electronic portal

Manage the entire editorial and production processes including content acquisitions

Manage copyright permissions, royalties, reprints, promotions and advertising for publications

Manage a staff or 3 direct reports, 33 publication editors and 22 committee members

Have P&L responsibility and will manage a $2 Million + annual Publications budget

Research and negotiate contracts with a variety of external vendors

Be the key liaison between the Assn and their production/distribution vendor

Be the key liaison between the Assn and their various academic editors

Represent this publishers publishing program to the broader scholarly publishing world
Qualifications needed are:

Graduate/advanced degree - ideally in some form of Social Sciences

5+ years of scholarly publication management (ideally with some in a digital format)

Experience managing personnel and ability to work well in a collaborative environment

A proven ability to edit, proofread, and manage production processes

A Knowledge of state of the art electronic publishing and distribution processes

This client is a 100+ year old Social Sciences Association with over 10,000 members.
They have 22 employees and publishes a variety of Journals, Monographs, Newsletters and books including 28 active journals.
