Our Client is in need of an Executive Editor for their Education oriented list.
This person will
* Be responsible for overseeing a front list of 75 - 100 new books per year
* Be responsible for managing a small team of Acquisition Editors
* Be responsible for coordinating with Sales and Marketing
* Have responsibility for acquiring 12 - 20 titles of their own/year
* Have limited travel to conferences & conventions during the year
* Create P&L's to guide acquisitions decisions
* Participate in team and management meetings
* Review and develop manuscripts
* Assess and have input on direct mail and marketing plans
* Have some level of previous acquistions experience
* Ideally have previous teaching experience in the K-12 Environment
This position will mainly work on professional, development and reference books for teachers, counselors, administrators, etc. in the K-12 school markets.
This position is based in the Western US and our client will offer a solid compensation program and relocation package to the right candidate.
