Our client is seeking a proven sales rep to cover database and journals sales to the Library and Consortia markets in the Plains states.
Territory includes TX, OK, MS, LA, AR, KS, MO, ND, SD, TN, NB.
This person will
-
Negotiate agreements with major consortia/multi-site institutions

Have key account management responsibilities

Ideally have previous experience selling Full Text Databases or Academic Journals

Call on key corporate, government and institutional accounts

Achieve sales goals and provide high level customer service and support

Be responsible for growing existing accounts and establishing new accounts

Have a heavy travel schedule of 60% - 70%

Attend many conventions/conferences as needed

Maintain a professional appearance including their automobile

Need to be highly motivated and a self starter

Be required to provide normal sales tracking, projection and report information
Qualifications needed are
-
BA/BS in Business or related degree - MBA is a plus

3-5 years sales experience in Academic Publishing - Ideally in database/journals sales

Ability to work independently and autonomously

Being very goal oriented with strong interpersonal skills and initiative

Solid Knowledge of MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Knowledge of or ability to use CRM software such as ACT or Goldmine
