This person will:

• Have full managerial responsibility over an international team of 8 people
• The team will acquire in Food Sciences, Nutrition, Ecology, Biomedical + related areas
• May also have dotted line managerial responsibility over some other editors
• Be tasked with training and developing their team
• Manage the budgets/goals for their team
• Manage a list of major reference works and well respected legacy titles
• Be responsible for team acquisitions with a $15 - $20 million lifetime value/yr.
• Handle $6M in acq's themselves ($4M is a large reference set) + managing team
• Be familiar with developing and maintaining a solid list of potential author contacts
• Travel up to 30% for conferences, campus visits and meeting with remote AE's
• Be creative, innovative, organized, results oriented individual
• Be involved in US and possibly some International Editorial/Marketing efforts
• Conduct competitive research and analysis on similar industry products

Qualifications needed are:

• College degree
• 3-5 years editorial experience and/or hard science experience
• A degree in sciences is a plus but not required
• Sales and marketing experience is a plus
• Must have experience with Excel, MS Word, etc.
